Sprouts: May 5-7 (CORE)

The Sprouts explored their Third Eye Chakra this week with Courtney R. She will return next week to teach the students about their Crown chakra and then join us the following Monday for one concluding lesson.

We also started our week with the 100th day of school! As we have been counting the days since September, the Sprouts have been awaiting the day that we got to add a number to our 100s column! To celebrate, I hid 100 pieces of money around the classroom and had the students find each, placing them on a number line as they did so. This was a great coin review as we move closer to our sale, as well as an opportunity to reinforce a variety of number sense as we used the number line.

Within our L&N centres we explored other money practice, Time, the respiratory system and Mother’s Day projects.

Jude taught his lesson to earn his Creation Magic badge on Monday! His creation is one that we will be selling on STM Day, we all students continued to make these items throughout the week. Great idea Jude!

Our Tuesday Trek took us to our favourite tree climbing spot where we also made some spring observations and foraged sticks for some special moms. 🫶🏼 Sunflower seeds that we had planted last week began to sprout and we are looking forward to planting them in our garden next week.

Lola made her Food Magic project this week, choosing a tasty mixed berry crisp recipe! She made a delicious dish that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. Nice job Lola! 😊
