This week our focus was on Father’s Day. The students created fun gifts and cards for Dad that came home today. I will let them share the details with you. ☺️
As we wrap up some learning, we are continuing our L&N centres. Students wrote about their favourite part of our field trip in their portfolios, worked on their memory books, and engaged in math and literacy games to review learning from the year.
For story time this week, the class chose to listen to a Brain Bots story on our Yoto. They thoroughly enjoyed that learning this year and were eager to hear more. This week we learned about the immune system and the ‘superheroes’ our body has to keep us healthy. We learned that our body is always working to protect and heal with the help of our mucus, white blood cells and antibodies. They also learned that fevers can be superheroes as well as they increase our body temperature to rid it of pathogens. We will end the year learning about the skeleton and muscles, next week.
The creek was their spot of choice for our Trek this week. Trees were climbed and forts were built.
Roman got to make his drum alongside his sapling peers today and will birth it during our Summer Solstice ceremony, next Wednesday. ☀️
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!
