Sprouts: Mar 24-26 (CORE)

Starting our week with our second visit from Courtney R., the Sprouts learned more about their root chakra and the feelings that are connected to that energy centre. They also learned the affirmation “I am Safe,” to connect to this chakra.

Within our Letter & Number Magic centres the students expanded on this learning with Body Magic connections and a fun colouring sheet that reiterated the learned affirmation.

We finished up our Maple Syrup creation this week, which called for a taste test! Students blindly tasted 3 types of maple syrup (all pure & organic) and voted for their favourite. See photos for details. They continued to explore capacity within our L&N Magic centres as well.

Other L&N Magic centres included vowel practice, Sugar Maple life cycle, base ten recognition, and spelling practice. Students each have a spelling list of 5-8 words that they will be practicing over the next couple of weeks. We will be having our first spelling test this month. I will be working with each of our literacy groups to prepare during our mornings.

On our Tuesday Trek we walked down to the creek, noticing the differences with the seasonal change. We came back with a bundle of large sticks to use to create a school project. More to come on that soon.
