Sprouts: Apr 7-9 (CORE)

This week Courtney R introduced the students to their Solar Plexus chakra which is connected to our confidence and self-worth. She taught them ‘power pose’ and guided them through a beautiful meditation. We extended this learning during of L&N Magic centres with a colouring sheet to reiterate the affirmation: “I am confident”. The Sprouts also connected the stomach to the solar plexus chakra area as we continue to learn about the organs in our body. This week we also spoke about the brain and its connection to everything we do.

Our morning centres also involved spelling and time-telling practice, continued place value exploration and an introduction to our plant of the month: violet.

We got to listen to 4 badge work presentations on Tuesday: 3 of which were in the Food Magic category! Students are looking forward to preparing these drinks/dishes later this month and into early May. I will reach out with more details when your child’s turn comes closer. Roman was one of our presenters with his first piece of badge work! 👏🏼

Today we made space to bake up two batches of cookies in preparation for our Spirit Day next week! Our April Spirit day will also be our Pancake Day! Everyone is looking forward to trying our school-made syrup. If you have a griddle that you’d be willing to let us borrow next week, please send me a message. 😊

We had a great time attending the Seedling & Saplings’ sale today as well! Some students purchased items while others get to save for the next STM on May 14th.

It will be Oakley’s turn for Mystery Bag on Monday.

FYI: Kennley’s family has left TSOM. I informed the Sprouts about this on Monday and we shared feelings around the situation. She will be missed and there may be some big feelings that come up for your child.

And: we are no longer a peanut-free school. 👍🏼
