This week flew by!!

Students began their week getting in touch with their bodies, diving deep with Courtney Roddis in a longer meditation this time. Many students are identifying that it is getting easier to focus and they are noticing more about their bodies. Their overall focus during the school day is ramped up on Mondays as well. Please remember that these meditations can be accessed by all parents for their children to listen to by clicking the "forms" button on our app homepage, so students can enjoy anytime.

We got busy in our business immersion program by going back to basics with business definitions, word problems and calculating taxes in many ways to prepare for Jeopardy. Students began keeping track of their group earnings this week and we ALMOST made it through a complete round. We have a few more questions to work through on Monday, then we will be complete. I am noticing that our Seedlings are asking more questions and working through hard questions one step at a time. Saplings that are fluent with concepts are mentoring their younger classmates in the groups during the game as well. They make space to support their younger team mates through each math question....the most tricky of the questions involve 4 steps! Everyone is working away fabulously, working with tools to support them AND understanding what is happening...which is the goal in our room. We are always asking two things:

1. What is happening here?

2. Does this make sense?

Our afternoons were filled with business creations of all kinds and advertising lessons. On Monday students identified financial business goals for this coming sale, and then everyone worked through the process of completing their inventory lists and setting product and service goals so they can be successful. On Wednesday, we discussed ads that the students see regularly, what they say and why, and began to shift the focus from what they want from their businesses (goals), to what the customer wants and how to work with that. After some brainstorming and small group work, one student became a running ad creation machine and volunteered to create our Instagram advertising, while other students created signs wishing their customers a happy Easter <3

This week our TSOM Hostipal was officially opened as well!! Lots of broken bones occurred this week and were mended in record time. There were quite a few babies born as well. We had some animals in for the vet and some wildly hysterical play ensued....and I got to play too!! I was the hostipal director lol.

There were many stations set up with wood burning, the kitchen oven was pumping out real food dog treats, beautiful crocheted eggs and little baskets were being created, while many little crocheted chicks, sewn birds for mobiles, and comic books were created. Tumbled crystals came out of the tumbler this week as well. Our students that are complete with their creations are supporting their friends and some students began discussing hiring people they know to crochet for them as the first service offered will be unveiled at this share the magic day as well! Lots of growth and possibility thinking is happening and it fills my heart right up. Pictures were not as plentiful during this time as I was moving from group to group to support students with their product creation to support their future successes.

Share the Magic day will be held on April 9th from 11-2 in the foyer (Seedling & Sapling space) if the weather is too windy, wet or cold, and in the parking lot if not. There will not be access to the building for bathrooms at this time, as the Sprouts will not be participating in this sale. This one was originally supposed to be online, however all students expressed interest in it being in person, so we adjusted the plan to suit them.
