Seedling & Sapling CORE Nov 4-6

This week we began a new morning routine including double doodle time, brain gym activities for left and right brain connections, silent crystal meditations, and silent journaling. This provides students with some serious grounding so they can be present for our business days which are quite heavy with language and math. Students LOVE it and have voted to continue this morning practice even when share the magic day is over.

This week our 12 entrepreneurs got busy creating for their businesses!!! Most of the materials that were ordered came in, except one item that will be arriving soon! All our business owners were VERY excited and dove right into our business creation time.

Throughout this week, I had interviews with each student after our morning mini lessons in business to identify price points for sale items. Price points for items for sale (for this round) are based off materials and goal profits that each student has. We used an A+B=C equation/algorithm to determine how much INCOME gets to flow into the businesses, and then we identified how many items we could make and worked with the cost if each item until the total INCOME met or exceeded the C (income) value we needed to pay ourselves and our materials fund back so we can do it again next time! Next week our focus is on advertising!!!

Our Business Jeopardy game has been an incredible hit!!!! Students made new rules for this weeks game play so everything felt more fair to everyone. Our winning team this week were The Blue Jays with 3050 cents gathered!!! Each member of the winning team receives $5, our second place team receives 30 minutes of free time, and our third place team gets to make a dessert for their team and to share if they choose.

Our afternoons have been spent crafting, planning and organizing their sale items. They are engaged and have HUGE hopes.

For reference for parents:

  1. Students are able to bring their business materials home to work on.

  2. Troubleshooting supports for their creations may be necessary from parents if they choose to being their items home.

  3. Next week we will begin sharing our school store link (from the website - please do not share app links or invite anyone to our app from outside the school community) on our school Instagram page.

  4. Below are the logos for student businesses that are already created. Please have your child show you which is theirs and you are welcome to shout out your child's creativity online. The remainder of the student business logos will be complete by end of next week.

  5. Tag TSOM if you choose to share, we will capitalize on the excitement and share back to our school page to boost our presence in the Instagram feed so more people will know what is happening on Nov 27th <3

Create a fantastic weekend for your families!!
